Snakewood (translation of snakewood) is an exotic wood known technically as piratinera guianensis

Snakewood comes from a relatively rare small tree found in the forests of Central and South America.

Initially dark red in color, the wood changes its stripes (so to speak) when exposed to air, causing the wood to eventually turn reddish brown. The pen is sealed with cyanoacrylate glue to keep those beautiful colors and stains so distinguished.
